Dailica Privacy Policy
Effective date: November 8, 2026

Your personal notes belong to you. Dailica keeps your notes and reflections on your device and does not send their content to the developer. To load the calendar and Gospel texts, the app connects to Google Firebase. Usage statistics are collected only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

This policy covers the Dailica mobile app and the dailica.app website. The website is described in section 12.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Vitalii Spitsyn, a private individual in Lithuania and the developer of the Dailica app ("we", "us"). For any privacy questions, contact spicynv@gmail.com.

2. Data on your device

Your notes (quotes and reflections), drafts, settings and reminder times are kept in a local database on your device. The app does not send their content to us or to third parties, and we have no remote access to it. The operating system protects this data so that other apps cannot access it.

This data may be included in your device backups if you have them turned on: in iCloud, Google Drive or on a computer. Cloud backups are handled by Apple and Google under their own privacy policies (Apple, Google).

3. Loading the calendar and Gospel texts

The app downloads the liturgical calendar and Gospel texts from Google Cloud Firestore (Firebase). It only reads these public texts and never writes anything there.

When the app connects, Google receives the technical information needed to handle the requests: IP address, connection data, device and operating system details, and technical identifiers used by Firebase services. It does not include the content of your notes. We do not use this information to identify you. The connection to Firebase is encrypted. Without this information the app cannot load the calendar and texts.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in letting the app show the calendar and texts (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Google processes this data as our service provider (see section 8).

4. Photos

To choose a background for a quote card, the app opens the system photo picker. The app receives only the photo you pick and gets no access to the rest of your library. The photo is used only on your device and is never uploaded.

If you save a finished card to your gallery, the system may ask for permission to add photos. This permission only lets the app add images, not read your library. You can revoke it in your phone settings.

5. Notifications

Reminders and the silence-timer notification are created on your device. We do not use server push notifications. You can turn notifications off in your phone settings.

6. Sharing

When you share a card, the app opens the system share sheet. The image goes only to the app or person you choose, and from then on it is handled under their terms.

7. Usage statistics (only with your consent)

The app asks whether it may send usage statistics. Consent is voluntary: no Dailica feature depends on it. Until you agree, no statistics are collected, including Google Analytics' automatic events.

If you allow it, Google Analytics for Firebase receives:
  • which screens you open and which features you use, for example opening the daily reading (today's, a past or a future day, without naming the passage), saving or deleting a note, setting a reminder, starting the silence timer and for how many minutes, sharing a card and which template you chose;
  • which settings you change: app and Gospel language, text size, timer length; for reminder times, only the fact that you changed them;
  • technical details: device model, device language, operating system and app version, a Firebase app installation identifier, and approximate location (country, region, city) derived from your IP address. Google Analytics does not store the IP address itself.
The text of your notes, reflections and quotes, references to the passages you read, the photos you pick and the cards you create are never sent. Advertising identifiers (IDFA on iPhone, the Google advertising ID on Android) and the identifier for vendor on iPhone (IDFV) are not collected. Statistics are not used for advertising and are not combined with data from other apps or websites.

Statistics are not linked to your name or contact details, but the installation identifier may still count as personal data under the law. Because Dailica is a religious app, we send only a minimal set of events and use it solely to understand which features are useful and to improve the app.

The legal basis is your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) and 9(2)(a) GDPR). You can change your choice at any time in the app: Settings → “Usage statistics”. Once you withdraw consent, no new data is collected, including after the app restarts. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before it.

8. Service providers and transfers outside the EEA

For the app, the only service provider that receives data is Google, through the Firebase services described in sections 3 and 7. Google processes it on our instructions under the Firebase Data Processing Terms and the Google Privacy Policy. Usage statistics (section 7) are also covered by the Google Ads Data Processing Terms. We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising. The providers of the website are listed in section 12.

Separately, Apple and Google, as app stores, may give us aggregated install statistics and crash reports if you allowed this in your phone settings. They collect this data themselves, under their own terms.

Google's servers may be located outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Such transfers are protected by the safeguards of Art. 45–46 GDPR: Google's participation in the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses included in the Firebase Data Processing Terms. You can review them at the link above and on the Data Privacy Framework website.

9. Data retention and deletion
  • Data on your device is kept until you delete it. Deleting the app from your device removes its local data, but it may remain in backups made earlier. If the app is only offloaded to save space (“Offload App” on iPhone, “Archive” on Android), its data stays on the device.
  • Event-level and user-level data in Google Analytics is kept for 2 months. Aggregated reports (for example, the total number of users per day) may be kept longer. Deletion happens as part of Google's regular processing.
  • Technical request data from section 3 is retained by Google according to its own documentation.

10. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to: find out what data about you is processed and get a copy; correct it; have it deleted; restrict processing; object to processing based on legitimate interest; receive your data in a portable format where applicable; and withdraw consent at any time. We do not make automated decisions that affect you.

To exercise these rights, email spicynv@gmail.com. We will reply within one month. Statistics contain no name or contact details, so we cannot find your data in them by email (Art. 11 GDPR). The simplest option is to withdraw consent in the app settings: collection stops immediately, and the data already collected is deleted when the retention period ends (section 9).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Lithuania, this is the State Data Protection Inspectorate (Valstybinė duomenų apsaugos inspekcija), vdai.lrv.lt. You can also contact the authority in the country where you live or work.

11. Children

Dailica is meant for a general audience and is not specifically directed at children. The app does not require registration and does not ask for your age. The technical data in section 3 is processed when texts are loaded, regardless of age. Statistics are enabled only after consent. If the laws of your country do not allow you to give it yourself, a parent or legal guardian must give it.

12. The dailica.app website

The website is built and hosted on Tilda (Tilda Publishing). It has no forms, accounts or payments, and we do not ask you for any personal data there.

Technical data. When you open the website, Tilda and its DDoS protection provider, DDoS-Guard, process the technical data needed to deliver the pages and protect the website from attacks: IP address, browser and device details, the pages you open and the time of the request. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Tilda retains this data under its own privacy policy.

Cookies. On your first visit, the website shows a cookie banner where you choose which cookies to allow.
  • Essential cookies are always on. They protect the website from attacks and remember your cookie choice. Some of them are kept for up to one year. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Analytics cookies are used only if you allow them. They let Tilda's built-in statistics recognise repeat visits, so we can see how many people use the website. Without your consent, the statistics count page views without cookies. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
  • The website does not use advertising cookies, Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics.
You can change your choice at any time: open cookie settings, or clear the cookies for dailica.app in your browser and the banner will appear again. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before it.

13. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date at the top. If the changes are significant, for example if the app starts collecting new data, we will say so in the App Store and Google Play release notes or in the app itself. This English version is the authoritative version of this policy; translations are provided for convenience.
